School Textbooks Tackle the Clinton Impeachment

WASHINGTON (Dec. 27) – The impeachment of former President Clinton is in a gray area of history, too long ago to be a current event, too recent to be judged in perspective.Yet history is already judging Clinton in the place where millions of students get their information about him — textbooks.
Seven years after he was impeached in a scandal of sex, perjury and bitter politics, Clinton has become a fixture in major high school texts.
The impeachment is portrayed in the context of his two-term tenure, a milestone event, but not one that overshadows how Clinton handled the economy, crime and health care.
For goodness sakes, look at the lead! “A gray area?” “Too recent to be judged in perspective?” Are they serious? The man was impeached! There is no doubt he perjured himself. He admitted to it, himself. It wasn’t a judgement call; it’s a historical fact. Should we choose to ignore it because Clinton was/is a media darling? AOL makes the situation worse by actually posing the question: “Is it too soon to judge him?”
I don’t remember the press questioning when Watergate was entered into the history books. No. In fact this same press has made a political icon out of Deep Throat and the former deputy director at the FBI, W. Mark Felt, although he betrayed every pledge to which he swore an oath. It seems it doesn’t matter what laws or morals are broken as long as it furthers the liberal political agenda. Put the liberal political agenda in jeopardy; and, on go the brakes.
It’s just one more example of the liberal slant of our MSM.
