Approval of Congress at All Time Low

Back when the Democrats were working to take over the Congress we had polls nearly every day. The president’s approval ratings were in the dump and each day brought a new “record” low. The Democrats played this up each chance they got and, of course, they were assisted by their minions in the media. The MSM could not wait to inform us that the President had new record low approval ratings. It seems to me that this was all I heard. The Democrats used these low ratings and their one sided concern about corruption to get into the majority.

All well and good but when was the last time you heard the news tell you that the approval of Congress was at a record low 10 or 15 times during the day? Have the headlines been screaming about record lows and have the broadcast stations been shouting about how Congress is so despised that it has an approval of 11% and that the President has an approval that is about 2.7 times that. Yes, President Bush has an approval rating of 29%, a mark that had the pundits and the Democrats clamoring just last year is much higher than the rating Congress gets.

I guess it would be too much to have the MSM come out and tell us that 89% of the country disapproves of the way Congress is doing business? Yep, 89% of America is unhappy with their job performance. When the donks talked about the Bush numbers last year they told us it was time for change. I would imagine that we can now assume that it is time for change in Congress and that 89% of the country would not mind if we replaced all these people with people who know how to work together and who have fresh ideas. It is nice to see Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have this to add to their resumes.

Remember, vote for anyone who is NOT an incumbent.

Check out some actual historical data. (http://www.galluppoll.com/content/?ci=28456) Except for the months immediately after 9/11, when even W managed to fool most of the people most of the time, Congress’ approval rating has peaked at 50% and pretty much stayed in the 30s and 40s. None of them give a hoot about us, and calling the Democrats names is doing nothing more than playing their game.

It takes a unique person to be proud of his President’s 29% approval rating, especially when you consider it’s DOWN from 33% in August. Pass the kool-aid…maybe it’ll start to look good to me too.

Well now thinker, I am not drinking Kool Aid and I am not proud of Bush’s numbers. I merely point out that prior to the election the Donks and the MSM made a big deal about his approval rating as some mandate for change. Now that they are lower than he is, they are silent about it.

I also believe, no I know, that I wrote to vote for anyone who is not an incumbent. I did not specify a party so that means everyone.

The country is displeased with ALL of them (President and Congress) but he seems to be doing a bit better than they so we hear little about it. I can assure you that if Congress had a 50 or 60% approval they would be beating him up for his 29%.
