And So The Cover-Up Begins…

Joe Sestak is running for the Senate Seat currently held by Arlen Specter. During the primary the White House offered Sestak a position in the regime to drop out of the race. Obama owed Specter his thirty pieces of silver for switching parties and this was one attempt to get competition out of the way. The only problem is that Sestak was having none of this and he blabbed that he was offered a position to drop out.

His story was consistent all along and he disclosed the information when he was not overly happy with the White House. In other words, he was not worried about protecting anyone. The White House has been saying that nothing happened, it was not illegal and that we should all move on. The people who said they would be most transparent are covering up a crime.

Look at how these pieces fell into place. Bill Clinton was in DC and happened to have lunch with Obama and the regime’s people made contact with Sestak’s campaign manager (who happens to be his brother). Then, miraculously, we learn that it was Bill Clinton who made the offer to Sestak and that the offer was for a non paid job so no crime here, nothing to see, move along.

Was Clinton in DC and was Sestak’s brother contacted so that the conspirators could get their stories straight. Did Clinton actually make the offer or is he taking the heat to keep it away from the White House? I can’t imagine him being that noble so look for him to get some ambassadorship or something similar in a few months. It is also interesting that Sestak is ratcheting back his previous assertions. What took place?

No matter what, the statement released by the White House is inadequate and only adds more fuel to the fire. There is the claim that Clinton contacted Sestak and a non paying job offer was discussed. That is illegal, paid or not. But put that aside and look at the rest. The memo released indicates that several contacts were made with Sestak and there is no explanation as to what took place during them.

The regime has dropped this information on a Friday before a three day weekend in hopes it would get buried but it will not. It looks like the Obama regime has been caught in a pay to play scheme that could land people in jail. There is a heck of a lot more evidence here to indicate that Obama and his people were involved in wrongdoing than there was in the Plame case as it related to George Bush so one would expect the MSM to be circling like sharks in bloody water just as they were during Plame.

But that will not happen because the MSM is full of Obama lap dogs who make excuses and cover up his criminal activity. If Obama were a Republican we would already have Woodward and Bernstein digging through the trash.

This whole affair (funny how we can once again use that word and Clinton in the same light) needs to be investigated by an independent party. We do not need a special prosecutor right now but we need someone outside the crime ring to be investigating. The entire investigation of this issue was conducted by White House lawyers under the direction of people working for the regime. They investigated themselves and expect us to think that they were honest and above board in doing so.

Sorry, that is not how things work.

For all you libs who think this is OK keep in mind that your leader and his Democrats in Congress are pushing for more control over the financial institutions. The claims are that the financial industry cannot have oversight over itself and requires monitoring from the outside. How can the same people who make these kinds of claims think it is OK for the White House to investigate itself in an issue with possible criminal activity?

Yeah, imagine if Bush would have said that the White House investigated the Plame issue and there was no wrongdoing. Do you supposed the MSM would have been OK with that?

There was criminal activity involving the Obama White House and it needs to be investigated.

    Hi Big Dog,

This story is unbelievable. First of all, Joe Sestak has consistently said he was offered a JOB by someone IN the White House. This story is obviously the biggest piece of excrement to come out of the Obama regime, yet.

First, an appointment to an unpaid Presidential board is not a JOB, so either Sestak lied or the White House did.

Second, former President Clinton is not someone IN the White House anymore. So, again, either Sestak lied or the White House did.

Third, regardless of the offer, it was a BRIBE and therefore a crime. WH Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel enlisted President Clinton to make the offer, isn’t that a criminal conspiracy?

Why would Clinton agree to this farce if it were not true? I am not buying any of this.

This is Obama’s Watergate and I believe it will end with his impeachment. The man is nothing but a thug!

  2. Adam says:

Illegal? Watergate? Pay to play? Impeachment? Oh brother. Get real. There’s nothing here, only nonsense spread by blowhards like Hannity.

But here we go! Get ready for it, folks. This is a sign of what’s to come if the GOP wins control of Congress. All we’ll hear about is how impeachable every single thing Obama does is and we’ll spend the next 3 to 7 years bogged down in complete nonsense.

That is how the GOP leads after all. They say that government is not the answer and can do nothing right and then they win government leadership positions in order to ensure they are correct. Just get ready for it. The Do-nothing regressives are begging for their positions of power again so they can waste another decade of American history “conserving” their pathetic excuse for an ideology.

    • Blake says:

This is a criminal offense- and it is surprising that “scandal” and Clinton are in the same sentence?
This strains credulity- that a Rep. would be offered a “non-paying” job, that BY LAW, he CANNOT accept and still be a Rep., a comp job with NO upside, and no compensation, in order to drop out of a Senate race, is a moronic explanation.
And if there was NO illegal aspect to it, then why use Clinton as a cut-out, and WHY go several months with no explanation? Why clam up NOW?
Why have the White House investigate itself? (There’s NOTHING to see here- move along-)
The questions are valid, and the excuses not believable.

  3. FairWitness says:

For once you understand Adam. You betcha! Obama & his Administration will spend the rest of their term testifying before Congressional committees for their lawlessness and unsuccessfully defending impeachment. Obama is finished and so is his Progressive agenda.

    • Adam says:

Sorry. There is no lawlessness. You’re simply delusional. There’s only an endless supply of Conservative obstructionism that leads back to before the founding of this country. That side has zero leadership ability. It exists only to derail or delay any attempt at progress and when progress does happen they deny it’s success. Call it the Three D’s of the regressive movement.

  4. Big Dog says:

Adam, the Conservatives founded this country and built this country. There was no obstruction that went that far back and none this time.

Get ready folks, Adam is demonstrating the great double standard. The rules for radicals dictate that the ends justify the means and Adam is part of the cover up. There is nothing to see, move along. It is perfectly OK with Adam that the White House investigated itself. When a Republican is in office Adam demands investigations and people being frog marched. When they are not then Adam calls it a cover up.

The reality is the memo from the White House is a smokescreen and the Chicago politics goes much deeper here. This is all a lie meant to confuse the lap dog media so it will help by not investigating.

Something wrong happened Adam whether you are too blind to see it or not. Even if you refuse to recognize it you must admit that this is not a demonstration of a transparent regime.

And yes Adam, your leader is going to get the same treatment that you and the morons on the left gave Bush. Turn about fair play and we are going to hold you hypocritic, knuckle dragging morons and your leaders to the same standard.

You guys started the fight when you refused to play nice and when you started with the Alinksy tactics. Now it is our turn and your messiah will be held accountable for the law breaking.

I thought he was another Carter but he looks more like Wilson and Nixon combined.

And I agree with Fair Witness, make them spend the rest of the time testifying.

We owe them that after the endless subpoenas and stonewalling we got from the minority left.

    Screw them.

    • Adam says:

“And I agree with Fair Witness, make them spend the rest of the time testifying.”

No surprise there. You’re part of the “government is inept” club and you’re more than willing to vote in inept conservatives to prove yourself right.

    • Adam says:

“Something wrong happened Adam whether you are too blind to see it or not.”

Sorry. Nothing wrong happened. But you’ll keep harping on it. This is what passes for leadership from your side: making stuff up as you go along to smear your opponents.

  5. FairWitness says:

    Great post, Big Dog!

Obama’s Administration is over. Americans will never accept this. A President of the United States attempting to bribe a sitting Congressman with a Presidential appointment so he won’t run in the Primary against Obama’s chosen candidate???

This is so wrong, so illegal, such a violation of law. They’re going down, all of them. It’s over!

  6. Big Dog says:

Oh yes Adam, what passes for leadership. In your party it is blame Bush for it all and never accept blame. You guys can’t lead.

Making stuff up? You mean like the memo that was sent out to say that nothing happened? How about we investigate and see what comes of it?

Your side called for an investigation every time Bush sneezed and you all screamed impeach on a daily basis.

Your side is doing a lousy job. They ran the country into the ground and are now digging a hole.

    • Adam says:

“How about we investigate and see what comes of it?”

Fine with me. But once the ball rolls it will be one of many such fruitless investigations. Your side is apparently prone to suggesting we impeach a president simply because you disagree with the politics.

“Your side is doing a lousy job.”

Sorry, what did you say? I didn’t catch it because my side has been too busy passing our agenda while your side pouted on the sidelines and called us all criminals and anti-American. Your side exemplifies leadership, let me tell you…

      • Big Dog says:

Right. Nothing will come of it. I do not doubt it if it is investigated like the Panthers in Philly.

If a crime was committed, and it looks like that right now, it needs to be addressed.

I do not want to hear that this has been done before and is nothing new. Obama promised not to have business as usual in DC. He promised transparency.

Passing the agenda? Oh, the Socialist one where government wipes your butt for you with toilet paper paid for by the productive among us.

        • Adam says:

“If a crime was committed, and it looks like that right now…”

Please tell us what crime it was. No one seems to believe it was a crime except right wing morons like Hannity.

      • Blake says:

Adam, your side is busy passing the buck- for everything-
And your side, at least the ones who are doing all the damage, ARE all criminals and anti-American, I think there is NO doubt of that, at least for me and many others.

  7. Big Dog says:

Offering a job for him to not enter the primary is a violation of the law.

[i] 18 U.S.C. § 600: Whoever, directly or indirectly, promises any employment, position, compensation, contract, appointment, or other benefit, provided for or made possible in whole or in part by any Act of Congress, or any special consideration in obtaining any such benefit, to any person as consideration, favor, or reward for any political activity or for the support of or opposition to any candidate or any political party in connection with any general or special election to any political office, or in connection with any primary election or political convention or caucus held to select candidates for any political office, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.

    Here is the time line

    • Adam says:

Get back to me when respectable legal scholars conclude that the law applies the way you’re suggesting it does. Most folks outside of the lunatic right understand this for what it is: nothing at all.

      • Big Dog says:

We have a law that might have been broken. We need to investigate to see if it has. The people you cite are basing it on what has been released, not on the facts of the case which can be ascertained once investigated by someone other than the WH. I am amazed you think it is OK for them to investigate themselves.

However, a few Democrats like Axelrod have admitted that if a job was offered it would be a crime.

        INVESTIGATE.

Problem with Dems is they believe their motives are pure and what they do is all above board.

Investigate to see. If it is OK, then fine.

But it is not. Chicago politics was played here.

And just to be clear Adam, if you have 12 legal scholars you will have 13 different opinions so don’t play the legal scholar BS with me.

Funny, Plame not undercover and you scream about her name being released (legal scholars have now concluded that a crime did not take place in the release of her name) and demand people be frog marched on nothing more than flimsy evidence.

Here we have the admission from Sestak, the denial by the WH and then the subsequent admission by the WH that it did take place (denial then admission, Nixon like eh?) and then an internal investigation and you say all is well.

Ask what you would want if Bush were in the WH. We both know the answer and you should hold them both to that standard.

        • Adam says:

“Funny, Plame not undercover and you scream about her name being released…”

Sorry. All these years later and you still can’t help by lie about Plame? I know you and all the other Bush water carriers think she wasn’t covert but the CIA thinks she was. But you may be right, what does the CIA know anyway about it’s employees?

The only problem with the Obama administration here is their failure to handle the PR of this correctly. It’s not a legal problem, it’s a political one. They handled it wrong giving your side an opening to start up this Clinton era crap. This is what passes as leadership from your side. You can’t stand the policy so you pretend laws have been broken. You can’t help it.

          • Big Dog says:

Far be it for the CIA to play politics. Perhaps it did with Plame. When you called Langley and asked for her the operator sent you through to her phone. Hubby and her in the Vanity Fair magazine. Not very undercover.

Even if she was, they knew who “outed”her within 3 days and it was not Bush or Rove. But you guys keep saying it was.

  8. Darrel says:

The only lesson worth noting here is that apparently Obama has set the behavior bar so high that THIS is what the right has to try and get excited about.

The administration offered someone a job, perhaps to further it’s wishes. In Washington! Imagine that.

This example is so GD stupid it’s almost difficult to comprehend, until you realize the above. Then it’s actually hilarious. The opposition party has to do something in opposition, and this is what the republicans are reduced to bringing to the table.

    Keep the softballs coming.

George Will knows a bit about politics, let’s ask him.

    D.
    —————
    ABC Sunday:

TAPPER: “…the Republicans are trying to make hay over this alleged deal that the White House made to Sestak. If you don’t run against Specter, we’ll give you this other job. A big deal or not a big deal?

WILL: Not a big deal. It’s — politics is a transactional business. They offered him a transaction — if they did, and I don’t see a thing wrong with it.”

    The Week.

Bonus bit on Porretto. He claims to have a spine. Who knew?

    • Big Dog says:

Behavior bar high? He is playing thug politics and he has lied about what he will do. So he offered a guy a job to not run. It broke the law and it is politics as usual, something he said he would not do. How is that bar so high?

    • Darrel says:

Bigd: “How is that bar so high?”>>

      DAR
If he didn’t have the bar so high, you guys would have something to throw at him that wasn’t ludicrous. QED.

      D.

      • Big Dog says:

Ridiculous analogy. Very poorly constructed and just because you say it is ludicrous does not make it so.

      • Darrel says:

It’s not an analogy. “Bar so high” is a figure of speech.

It seems right to assume you would bring your best game when going after your political opposition. If this kind of folderol is “your best game,” then Obama must be running a “pretty tight ship” (again, figure of speech).

The idea that the White House can’t offer someone a job, is political farce. George Will dispatched it with two sentences, which is more than it deserved, and then he moved on to something else.

Then again, such stuff is standard Bigdoggy fare isn’t it.

  9. Big Dog says:

Who cares what Will said. Is he the one writing the laws?

Here is what it comes down to, you guys wanted Bush impeached every time he farted and when Obama is possibly involved in breaking the law you will rationalize it away.

    • Darrel says:

Bigd: Who cares what Will said.>>

      DAR
Not you. Because you don’t like what he said even though it’s true. As usual, when it comes to reality vs. what you want to believe in based upon ideology and emotion, reality loses and emotion wins. Maybe someday you’ll learn to base your beliefs on good arguments rather than emotion and wishful thinking. When pigs fly.

Bigd: “…you guys wanted Bush impeached…”>>

      DAR
I never thought this or thought there were grounds for this. Not once. So your strawman and guilt by association fallacy doesn’t work on me.

This Sestak thing? It’s not going anywhere. It’s a fart in the wind. Don’t get too attached to it. Maybe better to start working on your next fart in the wind.

      D.

  10. Big Dog says:

Darrel, you have an enormous ego. You guys does not mean Darrel. Look around and see how many on the left wanted Bush impeached.

Emotion? Get real. The possibility exists that a law was broken and it should be investigated by more than the WH.

The fact is the guy said he would not be a DC as usual man and he is. The fact is there is a law and a possible infraction should be investigated.

The fact is, you (and this time I mean you) are ignorantly blind when it comes to anything that Obama could have done wrong. It is you who runs on emotion rather than fact.

As far as Will goes, it is based on Adam’s legal scholars argument.

Juan williams thinks something hinky happened so we have people from all sides speculation.

Investigate and find the truth. What was it they said about sunlight being a great disinfectant?

    • Darrel says:

Bigd: “You guys does not mean Darrel.”>>

      DAR
When you respond to me, and say “you guys” it does not include me? What on earth was I thinking.

  11. Big Dog says:

Last time I had a scan all the parts were the correct size…

Guess that is just another piece of bunk like Global Warming.

  12. Big Dog says:

You guys is a figure of speech like bar too high. It refers in general to the libs on the left.
