Al Gore; Silly To Keep Debating It

Al Gore has led the crusade against the catastrophic event known as Man Made Global Warming. He has a PowerPoint slide show and he goes around talking about all the calamities that will occur if we don’t spend untold (but no doubt huge) sums of money correcting the problem. Gore, who uses more energy in a month than most people use in a year, stands to profit greatly from his scheme. The problem is, selling it.

The way Gore sold it was to get a bunch of scientists who agree with him (many of whom receive government money to do the research) together, ignore the large numbers of those who disagree and then claim the science was settled. The “scientist” Al Gore claimed that the science was settled even though there has been no proof (only evidence) provided by the scientific community that he claims is on board.

Gore was at the WSJ’s Eco:nomics conference in California and he was confronted by a skeptical Danish environmentalist named Bjorn Lomborg who challenged Gore to debate the issue. Gore’s response was typical:

“I want to be polite to you,” Mr. Gore responded. But, no. “The scientific community has gone through this chapter and verse. We have long since passed the time when we should pretend this is a ‘on the one hand, on the other hand’ issue,” he said. “It’s not a matter of theory or conjecture, for goodness sake,” he added. WSJ

First of all I reject the claim that the science is settled. Gore however, feels that it is settled and should not be debated because the experts have said it is so.

Now, let’s go back to the 2000 election which should not be too difficult because my friends on the left live there. They cite Florida as an example of how Republicans steal elections (while ignoring places where they are really stolen by Democrats) and they have always referred to Bush as an illegitimate president. There were a number of recounts after the election and every one showed that George Bush won. The vote count and the election ARE settled but that has not stopped the left from continuing to debate it.

Al Gore refers to himself as a person who was once the next president of the United States.

Perhaps it is time for Al and his minions on the left to pay heed to their own advice. Or to put it in Al’s language:

“I want to be polite to you,” sayeth the Big Dog. But, no [we don’t want to debate the 2000 election]. “The media have gone through this chapter and verse and counted and counted. We have long since passed the time when we should pretend this is a ‘on the one hanging chad, on the other hanging chad’ issue,” he sayeth. “It’s not a matter of theory or conjecture, for goodness sake, Al, you lost”

Unlike the 2000 election, global warming is far from settled. However, if liberals are concerned they can participate in my carbon offset plan.

Al Gore jokingly refers to himself in that way. While I will never stop believing there were massive issues with that election it’s important to note that we have passed on to a new president who’s election is without question and it is your side who seems to think that there was enough voter fraud to swing a 7% margin or that Obama isn’t even a natural born US citizen. Go figure…

You may reject the claim that the science is settled but what you’re basically saying is you reject the scientific community’s reality and substitute your own.

You confuse the national numbers with state numbers. Certainly there could have been enough voted fraud in states to cause a problem even with a 7% margin of victory. I am not saying that the fraud caused the win or not only that for a people who cried about fraud you all were willing to overlook it.

ACORN is a fraud organization and if one of their criminals ever approaches me I will tell them I am registered. If they ask me to register again I will beat the hell out of them.

Oh wait, they won’t bother me. Not the right demographic.

No Adam, and there is you problem. I reject a portion of the scientific community. Not all of them agree and it is not even a majority that agrees. Even some who earlier agreed are changing their minds.

Problem is, people who follow Gore have no ability to think for themselves. I bet you a thousand dollars we are not flooded out by GW in 7 years. (Gore’s prediction). I merely reject that the science is settled because it is not. Anyone want to provide proof of this phenomenon? I would be happy to read all the PROOF you have. Not theory, not conjecture, not opinion but PROOF.

      You have none.

As for the birth certificate, no one has seen one. If he is a citizen he should show it. That racist AG called us cowards for not talking about race but Obama is a coward for not releasing his birth certificate. Not a COLB which is not good for anything. We want to see the real one with the hospital and place of birth.

Without that, he is illegitimate. Like global warming, the coward in chief lacks proof…

I don’t confuse anything. The deal with Obama is not simply a 7% margin. Check it yourself. If you took every state Obama won by less than a 10% margin and you gave it to McCain, McCain still loses by 7 electoral votes. This hasn’t stopped people your friend Cao from saying Obama stole the election.

You can guarantee had Florida not been a deciding state then the uproar would not have been as big.

I can’t present you any proof of global warming but I can present plenty of evidence that the world’s major scientific bodies are in consensus about global warming. That is after all the argument. Calling for proof of global warming is like turning around and saying there is no consensus on evolution because evolution is just a theory. Can you find scientists that don’t believe in evolution? Absolutely. But they are out of the mainstream just like global warming denying scientists.

The problem is Al Gore is just a front for a movement and often times you attack his flaws and his mistakes to attack global warming. The scientific community probably couldn’t care less about Al Gore just like many scientists studying evolutionary biology hate their science being hijacked by radicals anti-religious zealots (kind of ironic, right?) like Christopher Hitchens.

By “don’t” I mean I “didn’t.” I’m not so great as to never confuse anything at all…
