9/11 Commission Omission

Whenever we hear anything that references the 9/11 Commission it is always suspect. The group was comprised of people who were looking for ways to cover their terrible blunders while placing blame on a President who was in office only 8 months when a festering sore turned into a full blown infection. The Commission ignored many items (like Army intelligence that tracked the terrorists before the attacks) and downplayed the wall of separation erected between intelligence gathering agencies by the Clinton Administration. The Commission then made recommendations for reform and even bellyached when these reforms were not enacted or action was not quick enough. I guess maybe the administration was waiting for Sandy Burger to empty his pants so we could have all the relevant documents.

In recently released papers the association between Hussein and bin Laden is disclosed. These papers are written by Iraqi officials and start sometime in 1995 and go through to 1997. The papers discuss an association between the two terrorists, an association that the 9/11 Commission denies. Leftists every where to this day harp on the “fact” that there was no association between these two killers. As pointed out in News Max:

The document indicates that Saddam personally granted bin Laden’s request for help with propaganda broadcasts and instructed his agents “to develop the relationship [with bin Laden] and the cooperation between the two sides to see what other doors of cooperation and agreement open up.”

The 1997 Iraqi intelligence document goes on to report: “Currently we are working to invigorate this relationship through a new channel in light of his present location [Afghanistan].”

The reference by Iraqi intelligence to “joint operations” with bin Laden apparently contradicts one of the 9/11 Commission’s most important findings that Saddam had no “operational relationship” with al Qaeda. (emphasis added)

Moonbats are such that if they repeat something long enough they begin to believe it and they influence their drones to believe it. Even in the face of evidence they can not grasp the reality of the situation. There are those who still claim that Hussein had no WMD despite the fact he used them and the fact that one of his generals reported to us that they were transported to Syria just before the war. This claim also dispels the claim that he has not had them since the early 90s, but that does not discourage the moonbats from continuing their mindless prattle.

  1. Skynyrd…

We went to see Lynyrd Skynyrd in Branson Sunday night. Great show, but what I enjoyed most was watching the mix of people. We sat next to what appeared to be a mother and her mid-teen daughter. Mom was about the age where she had probably rocked out…
