I read the email string where he said that it was not properly formatted but that he had ADDED all the peer review items. So is he talking about a later item and people focusing on the draft?

Why would his boss say that we have decided not to include it (indicating that he believed at one time it would be) instead of just telling him from the start that he had no business working on this.

The damning part of the email string is where the boss says that the Administration and the Agency are looking to go one way and don't want things that would cause problems in the direction they want to go.

Gives a bad appearance when people say things that way.

In global warming, people have come up with a conclusion and are working the science to fit the conclusion.

Bigd: "My understanding is that the paper was peer reviewed and complete.">>

DAR
Which shows you didn't even read the tiny preface!

Here's some <a href="http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2009/06/bubkes/" rel="nofollow">peer review by climatologists</a> of this hodge podge draft (typo's and all) slapped together by someone with no training in the subject.

Yeah D, 97% of climate scientists INVOLVED IN RESEARCH agree. Not 97% of all climate scientists.

My understanding is that the paper was peer reviewed and complete. Let's wait until it comes out.

BIGD: "A string of emails released that deal with this show that the scientist in question submitted a peer reviewed paper that had results which ran contrary to what the administration and the EPA wanted.>>

DAR
As I've shown in the thread Blake devoted to this, there was nothing remotely scientific or "peer-reviewed" about that little high school paper some non-expert (BA in physics) slapped together based upon junk he copied from the "Friends of Science."

If you want to take down the mountain of evidence establishing what we know about climate change, what you need is really good, solid, peer-reviewed science. And you don't have that. You don't have anything!

What you've got is just <a href="http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2009/07/more-bubkes/" rel="nofollow">MORE BUBKES</a>!

Prove me wrong. What have you got? Let's see your peer reviewed science.

In another thread you asked what percentage of climatologists believe/agree that humans are a cause (or causing some of) the warming. SAV responded by asking what percentage you would consider persuasive. You didn't respond.

The answer is, about 97%. Now you know.

Note:

"A new poll among 3,146 earth scientists found that 90 percent believe global warming is real, while 82 percent agree that human activity been a significant factor in changing mean global temperatures.

The survey, conducted among researchers listed in the American Geological Institute's Directory of Geoscience Departments*, "found that climatologists who are active in research showed the strongest consensus on the causes of global warming, with 97 percent agreeing humans play a role".

...Doran said wide support among climatologists does not come as a surprise.

"They're the ones who study and publish on climate science. So I guess the take-home message is, the more you know about the field of climate science, the more you're likely to believe in global warming and humankind's contribution to it."

Writing in the publication Eos, Transactions, American Geophysical Union, Doran and Zimmerman conclude, "the debate on the authenticity of global warming and the role played by human activity is largely nonexistent among those who understand the nuances and scientific basis of long-term climate processes."

<a href="http://news.mongabay.com/2009/0122-climate.html" rel="nofollow">LINK</a>.

Now maybe you, a person with a military background, now in the nursing field (who doesn't believe in evolution), knows more than all of these "trained experts." But perhaps you can understand why I really don't think that is very likely!

Sorry you got a Democrat for a Rep, I've got Bartlett as mine and while I'm a bit annoyed with him over the FDA bill, I'm very pleased he voted against both the Porkulus and Cap and Tax.

However, the three emails I sent him made my position on how he should vote pretty clear.

Now I understand. This whole thing is a conspiracy of Democrats, independent scientists, EPA bureaucrats, and the Congressional Budget Office. And Kratovil doesn't care about anything, and is more than happy to tick off his constituents just out of spite.

Big Dog, you need to go chew on another slice of that Claxton fruit cake.

It has been the green jobs that have stymied any other growth in Spain.
e as a country are running towards a socialist model og governance, while the rest of Europe, having tried it, are running FROM this socialist model.
The statistics on green jobs from Spain do not lie- you just refuse to believe, D.

The global recession is hitting Spain hard but there is no reason to think it has anything to do with "green jobs" being created. That's ridiculous.

The Cap and Tax bill is just SO wrong that it is hard to imagine any but the most partisan hack voting for this abomination.
In Spain, where green initiatives took off, the result was a net LOSS of 2.2 jobs for every 1 green job created, resulting in unemployment in Spain of 19.4%, twice the level of the rest of Europe.
While the US is rushing headlong towards Socialism, the rest of Europe is moving away from it, having already found out it does not work.
Neither will this alleged "Climate" bill, which does nothing but extract money out of everybody's pocket to the benefit of a few companies.
