Hillary Thinks Being Protected is a Shame

Senator Hillary Clinton, a woman who is running for the presidency, took a break from her busy campaigning schedule to visit with the troops in Iraq. She is there to tell us how bad things are in that objective, nonjudgmental way for which the Democrats are famous. I imagine there will be few photo ops because the last time she was there at least one soldier was forced to pose with her as if they liked it when most would rather have avoided her and do not agree with her.

On this brief visit Senator Clinton was required to wear protective gear:

Clinton traveled wearing body armor and surrounded by a phalanx of soldiers and security guards. The level of security, she noted, was much higher than her first visit to Iraq back in 2004.

Our troops required her to wear body armor and a helmet for her own safety. Before the moonbats suggest that it was to protect her from OUR soldiers, keep in mind that if that were the case they would not have offered her the gear. In any event, Clinton seems to think that because she was not required to wear the gear last time she was there it is some indication of a “heartbreaking” problem in Iraq. Our soldiers wear that stuff all the time. Just because she did not have to wear it before is not necessarily any indication that things are any better or worse than before. Interestingly, while our military was making sure that Clinton was protected she indicated that we should not do the same for the Iraqi leaders:

“We are not going to be here providing protection for their leaders, which we do. We are not going to be here standing by and trying to be called in from time to time as they see fit. That is not in the cards.”

I guess if you are a leader in Iraq you are not worth the protection a carpetbagger from Illinois Arkansas New York is entitled to.

The most telling part of the story is Hillary’s swing back to the left with regard to the war:

“I don’t know that the American people or the Congress at this point believe this mission can work,” she said. “And in the absence of a commitment that is backed up by actions from the Iraqi government, why should we believe it?”

~snip~

Instead of sending more U.S. troops to Iraq, as President Bush plan, Clinton said it is time to start re-deploying U.S. troops out of Iraq.

Originally a fake hawk on the war and proponent for more troops to get the job done, she is now swinging back toward the cut and run liberal side of the aisle in time to make her official bid for the White House. I wonder if she will say she made a mistake or try to get people to forget her original position. It will be a bit hard for her to cover up all her assertions that Hussein had WMD and was a bad man that were made prior to Bush being elected but there are a lot of less than intelligent people out there. Witness the last election for which people who believed in the Democrats are beginning to pay a price.

Hillary is a power seeking self centered person who does not care for the military and believes that she and her ilk are intended, as a matter of birthright, to lead the American people. Her views change depending upon who she needs to fool at any given time and she is unethical and immoral. She will be a perfect candidate to represent the left side of the aisle.

Hillary thinks it is a shame she needs to be protected in Iraq and that we should not protect Iraqi leaders. Given her statements in this article it is evident that she does not think America should be protected either.
